The Dutch aviation industry is proud of its position and the important role it plays in employment, though getting there has not exactly been easy. Aviation, too, is suffering from the effects of the international crisis. In addition, air transport and employment in the aviation industry have had to contend with international events, such as the eruption of the Icelandic volcano in 2010.
The Dutch aviation industry is committed to withstanding international events and economic cycles without job losses. However, the downside is that there has been little or no room for intake and career progression in recent years in many parts of the aviation industry.
